Accommodation
Shamana offers a few rooms which provide all the comfort you need for a great stay. Each room has either two single beds or a double bed with an attached or shared bathroom and shower. The rooms are decorated with harmonious colors, and very comfortable. They have great mattresses and bedding, comfortable pillows and towels. The place offers safe filtered water from the tap (very rare in San Marcos) and the kitchen is equipped with high-quality utensils. There is a safe in the room and gorgeous views from the yoga platform.

Certification
Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
Level I: Purify (200-hour training)
In this training, you will learn, explore and practice all branches of yoga (Hatha, Bhakti, Karma, Jnana, Nada, and Kriya), history and philosophy, yogic and western anatomy, alignment and adjustments, Ayurveda, healing arts, and more.

What you will learn and experience in level 1
- Yoga anatomy: how to perform each posture, their modifications, variations, applied anatomy, alignment, health benefits, and psychic effects.
- Learning the art of teaching: from personal practice to teaching a group: sequencing, hands-on adjustments, contraindications, verbal cues, and assists.
- Feedback on the practical application of theory and practice (practicums)
- Mind management: training the mind through various relaxation and meditation techniques from yogic and eastern traditions.
- Living yogic lifestyle: by integrating theory and practice throughout the residential training, with daily routine, yogic diet, sadhana, Satsang (in-person teaching), sangha (community), devotion, and selfless service.
- Learn and experience yogic and Ayurvedic detox.
- Evolve through the chakras: exploring the chakra system in theory and practice while expanding awareness and releasing dormant energy through the stimulation, purification, and opening of the energy centers: activation, opening, removing blocks, and improving the flow of prana within your body.
- Unique in-depth 5-day immersion module of Ayurveda: understand your unique constitution for ultimate well-being and how to apply yoga and Ayurveda together (yoga therapy) for self and collective healing.

Hatha yoga
Asana / posture, pranayama/breathing techniques, mudra / gesture, bandha / lock, and shatkarma / detox.
Karma and Bhakti yoga
Selfless service and unconditional love: seva (selfless service), kirtan (devotional singing), and puja (ritual).
Tantra and advaita vedanta
Meditation and contemplation from the tantras and Upanishad, tools for transformation - yantra, mandala, and mantra.
Practical yoga philosophy and psychology
Chakras (energy - consciousness centers), gunas (attributes of nature), Kundalini (dormant creative energy).
Healing arts
Healing the heart: practical tools for transformation, releasing from the mind, heart-centered practices, shamanic journey, sound healing, and voice therapy.
Raj yoga
Pratyahara (sense withdrawal), dharana (concentration), and dhyana (meditation).
Jnana and Nada yoga
Mantra (chant), Satsang, self-study, and inquiry.
Yoga anatomy
Anatomy, pancha koshas (5 bodies), three vital energies (prana, tejas, and ojas), nadis (energy channels).
History and mythology of yoga
Understanding the different schools of yoga.
Ayurveda
The art of living: pancha bhuta (5 elements), dosha (bio-energy), vihara (lifestyle regime), ahra (diet), dravya (medicine), and yoga therapy.
Ritual and ceremony
Temazcal (Mayan sweat lodge), fire ceremony (yajna), water ceremony, cacao ceremony, devotional singing (kirtan), serpent dance ritual, and self-love ritual.

The main focus of Gurukuls is on imparting learning to the students in natural surroundings, which focuses on applied knowledge that prepares the students in all fields of life. The essential teachings embark through group discussions, self-learning, and teacher presence. While the students live with each other with brotherhood, humanity, love, and discipline.

Instructors
Eran
Eran is well known for his inspiring presence, emphatic heart, wisdom, and insight. From a young age, he was called to the elements of nature and the philosophies of the Far East. He went on different yogic pilgrimages and through various initiations by Healers and Gurus in Ashrams and ancient mystical sites. Looking to integrate the ancient Vedic systems into the western world he commenced his formal studies of yoga, Ayurveda, and eastern religions in academies and universities in Israel, Australia, and India. In 2015 he founded Atitlan Ayurveda, in 2019 he co-founded Shamana healing center.
Batya
Batya followed a spiritual path from a young age. At 21, she went to India for the first time, lived in the Himalayas for seven years where she was initiated into the simple ways of living. She then received the call to bring her passion for healing into a professional setting. Dedicating her time to both conventional and non-conventional disciplines, she completed formal studies in homeopathy, alternative psychotherapy, and B.A and M.A in social work. In 2019, she co-founded Shamana healing center, where she dedicates her time supporting people on their path of self-discovery, transformation.
Location
Shamana Atitlan provides intimate care with an attentive ear and a loving heart throughout the program, providing private consultations, coaching, and treatments. Located in the village of San Marcos La Laguna which is known as the “capital of yoga of Central and South America”, on the shores of Lake Atitlán.
The lake is known for its healing energy, attracting spiritual seekers from all over the world. Living among the Mayan community, one is inspired by the ancient local traditions, cultures, and wisdom present here. Access to the lake is a 10-minute walk from the center!
