All Vikasa rooms are private rooms. The yoga cave and yoga cave plus are single private rooms with shared bathrooms, and all other rooms are private ensuite rooms. You can twin share only if you are booking with someone you are traveling with - a friend, partner, relative, etc. who will also be doing the retreat or training with you.
They are not a one-size-fits-all kind of place. The rooms are comfortable and modestly priced, ensuring that you will have everything you need to feel at home during your training journey. Rooms are tranquil, and many come with inspiring ocean views so that you can unplug and reconnect to nature.
Vikasa Yoga Teacher Training will take place in Vikasa Yoga Retreat. The resort is the creation of yoga pioneer Konstantin Miachin, who created this unique place for personal evolution. It’s the ideal place to practice yoga in, find like-minded people, eat healthy food, or just chill out in an amazing natural environment.
Rooms
Rooms are comfortable, clean and will ensure that you feel at home for the duration of your stay.
Room options range to suit all budgets and needs, from the private Yoga Caves that have private rooms and shared bathrooms, to the lovely lotus pad rooms and prana cabana rooms that have ocean, pool, or nature views and everything you need for a wellness escape in a tropical island paradise.
Mini bars are also stocked with healthy kombucha and tasty healthy snacks to keep you fueled!
Enjoy deep restful slumbers and wake to the rising sun over the ocean. All rooms are a short walk from the facilities, including the Life Cafe, infinity pool, secret beach, and all yoga salas.
Lotus Pad
Renew your flow each morning while gazing over the calming waves or nestled in the rejuvenating tropical gardens. These pads offer a serene space that centers around the plush king bed oriented towards the beautiful, expansive views.
Each room is accented with local elements and eco-friendly toiletries. Most lotus pads have a private terrace to soak up the fresh island air, meditate, relax, and take in the stunning natural surroundings. They’re conveniently located between the cafe and the yoga salas so you can recharge between classes.
Yoga Cave Plus
Rest and recenter in a compact yet calming space that combines comfort and simplicity. Restful tones and natural materials will channel through the room, drawing your thoughts inwards, and your gaze outwards to the sea and meandering coastline.
Caves are modest in size, with a single twin bed designed for solo journeys. The space may be small but you won't feel caved-in since sweeping ocean views will give a sense of infinity. Each Yoga Cave is climate-controlled and has access to the shared but clean bathroom facilities right next to the block. Bathrobes and basic toiletries will also be provided.
This is the ultimate escape from uninspired hotels and overbooked resorts that zap your energy. Instead, your stay can create a personal space ideal for the solo traveler who carves their path. With a private hot shower and climate control, these bungalows will give you the full jungle experience without sacrificing comfort.

What you will learn:
Evolution of yoga - Kosta Miachin
Kosta refined his practice and teaching of yoga over two decades of experimentation with a number of styles and schools of yoga. The result of this experimentation and refinement is the Vikasa Method.
In this module, “Evolution of Yoga,” Kosta will lead practices (pranayama, kriya, meditation, and asana) that are long and deep - the culmination of years of thoughtful practice. They are not simply physical practices, but are also designed to work on all layers of the practitioner’s being, primarily the often forgotten energetic layer.
The practices are physically and mentally challenging, and come with energetic payoffs hardly ever experienced in modern yoga.
This module also includes a series of lectures in which Kosta traces the Vikasa Method back to the origins of yoga and situates it within that context and the relevant lineages. Furthermore, the lecture series dives deep into the rationale behind the Vikasa Method, providing a clear and scientific basis for all of the practices and an explanation of the effects.
You will learn:
- Advanced asana
- Active awareness meditation
- Advanced pranayama
- Kumbhaka - retention of breath
- Hatha Yoga Pradipika
- Intelligent freestyle sequencing
- Energetic practice
- Mudra and bandha

The Vikasa yoga method
The signature foundation yoga teacher training starts with a strong physical foundation, evolving into energetic, mental, emotional, and spiritual practice.
Key principles and rules of yoga will be taught, allowing the teachers and dedicated practitioners to gain in-depth understanding, knowledge, and insight into the methodology and the effects of yoga practice. The approach encourages integration with society in a modern context.
The teaching modules each represent a pillar of the Vikasa Yoga method: mind, body, and energy. These three pillars, when taught together, create a well-rounded yoga education with emphasis on the development of the individual. It is a unique curriculum that has been tried and tested over the years, ever-evolving with lasting results.
The approach is further defined by the five shells or layers known as “koshas:” physical, energetic, emotional, mental, and spiritual. They like to think of the curriculum as two “hands” of learning under two structural pillars of practice and theory.
The branches of topics vary from asana and meditation through methodology and application. This method of learning has taken years to refine and now provides a stable platform for learning on mental and physical levels.

Deepen your practice
If you’re looking for a yoga teacher training course that not only equips you with the skills and knowledge to expand your practice, but also inspires confidence to follow your dreams and start a yoga school of your own, then Vikasa is the perfect place for you to get started.
Vikasa's 300-hour advanced YTT is designed for you if:
- You are a serious student committed to a yoga path.
- You are a teacher who knows the power of learning.
- You have already completed a 200-hour accredited YTT.
- You crave deep immersion in a group of like-minds.
- You are ready to surrender to the shifts of change.
- You need a refresh as post-pandemic life begins.
- You know that a great teacher must never stop learning.
They also believe that those who have a position of power have a responsibility to help those in need. They actively reach out to the community and try to improve what they see.
The idea of ‘reaching out by reaching within’ is at the heart of the yoga teacher training program - equipping you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to connect with others and teach the benefits of yoga, so that others may also experience the transformative effects.
The teachers
The 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training will be taught by Kosta Miachin, the founder of Vikasa, along with his team of senior level yoga teachers and international guest “super star” teachers.
This team is an eclectic group of international yogis with a variety of strengths and styles. All Vikasa teachers have graduated from yoga teacher trainings with a minimum of 200-hour teaching certification recognized by Yoga Alliance.
All have experienced several yoga teacher trainings with a variety of styles and focus. Their vast and combined experience will enrich your education and your yoga career. The course will be structured around various techniques, vastly ranging according to the expertise of the diverse team.
Learning and lifestyle
Vikasa means “evolution” in Sanskrit. To evolve means to finetune your self-awareness and commitment to constant improvement, whether that’s in your personal relationships, your work, or your health.
Personal evolution gives you the ability to create your life according to your deepest values and unique vision. It is your truth emerging from deep within, rather than living from your head and the programmed thoughts of your belief system.
Vikasa places emphasis on the individual in the context of society. Their approach to learning and teaching yoga is based on individual empowerment and evolution. It takes influences from authentic Hatha yoga lineages, Himalayan Buddhism, Taoism practices, and modern science.
The training starts with a strong physical foundation, evolving into energetic, mental, emotional, and spiritual practice. They value authenticity and logic, with a focus on self-love and evolution, meaning that the teachings are designed to stand up in the context of your modern-day lifestyle.
Vikasa's learning methodology is known for being ‘intelligent freestyle.’ Although they practice traditional yoga based on ancient lineages such as Hatha yoga and Himalayan Vinyasa, they also teach students to adapt and evolve their practice to fit modern day life.
This means that their students become free from strict practices and dogma, enabling them to adapt their yoga classes or their practice to suit their own personality, style, or needs. It also includes various substyles, such as Yin yoga, as part of a holistic health and wellness program.
What will your day be like?
Your daily schedule for the training will be a healthy mix of immersive practice, enlightening theory, and hands-on workshops. The daily life at Vikasa starts with the sound of tropical birds as the sun rises over the east-facing hillside home.
Vikasa mornings are magical, with meditation and practice before a robust brunch in a community setting at the Vikasa Life Cafe. Throughout the day, you’ll have a mix of structured group activities such as lectures or workshops, as well as solo downtime and freedom to explore this island paradise.
There will be six days of training per week with one day off, usually Sunday. You can end each day with a relaxing lemongrass tea while listening to the island breeze.
This is a sample schedule which may vary slightly from your actual schedule:
- 07:00 - 09:30 Morning yoga practice

Instructors
Konstantin Miachin
Kosta’s journey into yoga has taken him to the far reaches of the world, from remote Himalayan ashrams, to his initiation by a master monk in a sacred Sak-Yant ceremony in Thailand. His passion has led him to search out for his own personal development throughout the world. Kosta's years of worldly experience have led to deeper understanding of yoga as a personal journey and spiritual evolution.
Michael Murray
While initially drawn to the physical aspects of yoga, Michael remains stimulated by the interplay between the physical practice and the more spiritual, inner journey that can be opened up by the physical practice. In pursuit of this interplay, Michael teaches strong and flowy Vinyasa classes focussed both on correct alignment and intuitive movement and also facilitates discussions and lectures on emotional intelligence and personal development.
